Catherina Cramer

With the CARTE BLANCHE series, the Filmwerkstatt Düsseldorf invites filmmakers to choose eight of their personal favourite films from the range offered by filmfriend. Catherina Cramer is a German artist and filmmaker. She studied at the art academies of Münster and Düsseldorf. She received her Meisterschülerinnenbrief from Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster in 2019. In the same year, she received a travel grant from the Kunststiftung NRW, which she used to realise the series Unleash the Beast (ongoing) in collaboration with the artist Giulietta Ockenfuss in Mexico. She received the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and a scholarship from the Julia Stoschek Collection. Her works are represented in the collection of the Kunsthaus-NRW Kornelimünster, Aachen, and the K21 Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Düsseldorf). She lives and works in Frankfurt and Berlin.
